One of our most challenging recent projects is a Natural History Museum in Bandera, Texas. This design includes exhibit display areas for invaluable artwork and artifacts, a coffee bar, and a souvenir store. The greatest challenge? Fire suppression. Traditional water-based sprinkler systems would destroy whatever artwork survived a fire—an unacceptable outcome for irreplaceable exhibits. We developed creative solutions to meet fire code requirements while protecting the collection, ultimately designing an alternative fire suppression system that safeguards both visitors and the priceless displays. This project demonstrates our ability to solve complex code compliance challenges while delivering functional, beautiful commercial spaces.
